City Council Regular Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, July 6, 2021
The Auburn City Council met in regular session at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, in the council chambers of Auburn City Hall.
Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm
Presiding: Mayor Brown
Present: Council Members Stewart, Potter, Bryan
Superintendent Clinkenbeard, City Clerk Temple
Absent: Council Member Davis
Pledge of Allegiance recited.
Previous Meeting Minutes
Approval of June 21, 2021, meeting minutes reviewed. Council Member Bryan motioned to approve meeting minutes. Council Member Stewart seconded the motion. Motion approved Unanimous.
Approval of June 28, 2021, special meeting minutes reviewed. Council Member Potter motioned to approve meeting minutes. Council Member Bryan seconded the motion. Motion approved Unanimous.
Question of Bills
Detailed report of payment of invoices and checks included in meeting packet for all to review. Council Member Bryan motioned to approve accounts payable ledger of $58,120.32 including Payroll. Council Member Potter seconded the motion. Motion approved Unanimous.
Citizens Forum
Representatives from Auburn Ball Association were present. Ball Association President Jay Doud voiced concerns about issues between the City of Auburn and the Auburn Ball Association.
City Employee Jim Boone responded in disagreement. Discussion followed.
Police Chief Keys
Chief Keys recommends decreasing residential speed from 30 to 20 mph due to narrow streets. City Council decided to table discussion until City Attorney Luckman can review.
Superintendent Clinkenbeard
City Code updates reviewed.
City Clerk Temple
Update on general office issues.
Other Business
Quote obtained by Mayor Brown presented quote options for addition of flagpole in Heritage Park and possible replacement at Civic Center. Additional quotes requested.
Motion to adjourn by Council Member Potter. Motion seconded by Council Member Bryan. Motion approved Unanimous.
